Sweet Face

Ok here is a LO I did last night that I absolutely love.. nothing special but I just thought it turned out great. I won this kit Expectant moments at the night owl chat (at Rakscraps.com) from Amy Knepper and it is such an awesome kit.. I knew I wanted to use it really bad, so I just made the pick b&w so that all the pink & green didn't show up LOL..

Oh I almost forgot.. I also got PSE 4 for christmas.. some minor differences from version 3, but the biggest one is the ability to see your fonts your using... so much easier. I installed my one click Wow and it's working so far on this version so that good.. now if only I could get atomic cupcake to work too.

So I've been reading a few blogs today and It's amazing how many people are giving away little doodles, kits, etc on their blogs!! What a great idea. I don't have anything to give, but believe me if I did I would LOL.. I am trying to make stuff, but always get frustrated and then move on. I like the shabby look with the grunge edges and I haven't figured that out too well yet.. is it the burn, erase or sponge???? Who knows.. I will have to play with it some more.

Oprah?

So for Christmas my brother got me the 20th anniversay DVD set of Oprah. I'm not a HUGE oprah fan, but I do like her and occasionally I get a chance to see her show (of course I Tivo it.. and if I like the guest/topic I'll watch it). So anyway, I get a glass of wine and decided to put it in the player and watch part of the first (out of 6) dvds. Well it's all fine and dandy until I get to the "heartprints" section. This section is were Oprah talks about people who have really made an impression on her and then shows parts of the clips from when they were on the show... For heaven's sake, I could not stop crying! Why I didn't turn it off , I don't know. There were people struggling with cancer, a mother who lost her son, children who were sick, etc... I am a mess. So now my eyes are puffy (i'm still drinking the wine), and my nose continues to run. I hate it when you have Ugly crying face. To make myself feel better I went to the fridge and got myself a piece of pumpkin pie and loaded it with whip cream.. I mean loaded it. All better :)

A new look!

Ok so I took down the Christmas Banner and put up the New Year's one! I am so ready for a new year to start. 2005 was a very weird year for me.. really no middle of the road, just huge ups and downs! First of all my daughter was born in April! That was a major UP!! She is the best thing that has happened to me and thank goodness for her. Even when I am in a bad mood, or something doesn't go right, all I have to do is look at her sweet face and I immediately smile.

The lows.. Dad died of lung cancer, and my brother got a divorce. So did one of my best friends. Seems like everyone I know had major highs and lows this past year. Funny how that happens. So like I said I am definately ready for 2006. Ok time to get off that slump of a subject.

Ellie took a 3 hour nap today. And of course I didn't start any major projects because I was expecting her to wake up in about an hour.. go figure. I finally went in to see if she was breathing. She has been fighting a cold for weeks and I think it's coming back full force... now tomorrow.. she'll sleep 1/2 hour max LOL. I did manage to get 2 LOs done today.

Ok I"m tired.. seems like I only catch up on my blog right before I go to bed.

Christmas recap

Well Christmas is over and it's official.. my husband LOVES me dearly!! He got me a wonderful new Digital Camera!! It takes the most awesome pictures! It's a Sony Super Steady shot 5.1 mega pixels!!! Here's a pic of what it looks like

He didn't give it to me in the morning with all the other gifts, but waited until my parents were here. It was pretty funny because he gave me a new camera case and a new memory stick and told me it was all for my current camera... I thought that was a bit weird, but I went with the flow... needless to say I was so excited and suprised to see another gift waiting for me. I also got a cool new coffee maker:

Ok enough about ME!! I got Jeff an alarm clock.. I know that sounds completely lame.. but there is a reason. Jeff absolutely has a thing for lights when he is trying to sleep.. every night he makes a little cover over his alarm with all the remotes so that the light won't seep through.. I know it's crazy! So I searched high and low and found an alarm clock with a "soft amber light" plus you can hook your Ipod up to it. It's actually pretty cool. I also got him a bunch of other little stuff.

Ellie made out like a bandit! She got a ton of clothes, more Baby Einstein DVDs, books, Litte touch leap pad (leap frog book thing for babies), some activity center she can crawl through, bath toys and the list goes on... it was insane. But she did help me pull paper off and enjoyed pulling the tissue paper out of the bags.. She was cute and knew something was up. She did not want to nap at all.. she knew we were all out in the living room having fun and she wasn't about to miss it.

She did survive mass on Saturday night.. we went to children's mass so it was pretty kid friendly. I have tons of pictures to scrap. I did get this one day last night:

The papers are from the Sassy Girl kit by Betty Duganitz. It was given out as a RAK at Rakscraps. It matches the picture perfectly.

How Big???

Ok check out this article: 14 pound baby

I can't even begin to imagine that! Ellie didn't weigh 14 lbs. until she was around 4-5 months! Crazy!!

Last night my family (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc..) got together to celebrate xmas before everyone left town. It was fun, but it's amazing how now the attention is all on the baby...She made out like a bandit last night, lots of really cute gifts. It' s amazing how much one child, (who has no idea what Christmas is) can get so many gifts!! It was very thoughful of everyone.. now she has to open all of ours on Christmas morning. Where I will put all of this, I have NO idea!

I'm done with Christmas shopping. I can't tell what I got Jeff since he reads this.. but I will tell later. Ta Ta for now!

The Tree is Trimmed

Ok so I finally got my tree decorated this evening. I almost didn't do it, but decided it was now or never. I really don't know why I'm in such a funk about decorating. But it does look pretty. What is it about sitting in the dark next to a lit Christmas tree?? I just love that feeling of calmness.

Almost done with Christmas shopping.. just a few more things to get. I went to Best Buy today and there was a HUGE line of people camping out waiting for the xbox 360 to be sold tomorrow morning. Those people are nuts!! I'm not sure what it would take to get me to camp out in the cold in a sleeping bag for 2 days.

I just watched "Finding Neverland" again.. and again I cried like a baby. Now my eyes are swollen and sting. I guess I should head to bed then. Jeff is getting home tonight late from Washington. His grandmother passed away so he had to fly there for the funeral. Hopefully he'll be suprised to see the decorated tree :)

Ooooh I almost forgot.. Ellie got her picture taken yesterday at Kiddie Candids. They turned out better than I thought they would. Out of the 4 poses I really do like this one seen here. I ordered it in sepia and it looks really cute. Oh and my hand isn't in the printed version :)

Hmmm.. where does the time go?

The number of ornaments my tree has on it so far....

NONE.. NADA... ZIP

oh well.. hopefully soon.. maybe even tomorrow (LOL).

But we did manage to go to the doctor for Ellie's cold.. that was quite an experience.. they got me in for after hours (which starts at 5 pm) but I had to be there at 4:30 along with the other 10 sick children. I swear if we weren't sick already, we would definately be after sitting on the sick side of the waiting room. I had to sit there for 1 hour and 15 minutes until we were finally seen.. that's nuts!! Good thing Ellie is such a good baby, she just sat there and check out all the kids. But good news is that it was just a cold, no ear infections!!

Ok, I can barely keep my eyes open! I did manage to finish a LO tonight, I'm going to post it tomorrow. It's all about Ellie's bunny Rae. She sucks those ears so much that they are actually pretty disgusting... but she loves him.
I can barely keep my eyes open, so off to bed for me.

How I love...

Grey's Anatomy!!! http://abc.go.com/primetime/greysanatomy/

That could be the best show of all time.. the ending tonight was so great with Dr. McDreamy and his mean wife.. sigh. I'm not sure what it is about this show, but I'm completely hooked!

Ok.. the christmas tree.. hmmm, it's up and it has lights on it, because it's made that way.. but nothing else. Nothing, nada, zip! But it has become a cat toy.. I swear Della scaled up the whole tree today. Needless to say the water bottle (aka weapon of choice for cats )was brought out and put near the tree. Hopefully sometime this week I'll actually get the thing decorated. Maybe an ornament or two a night... at that rate it should be done by Valentine's day. LOL

Weight watchers... what's that. I haven't been since before Thanksgiving, because of vacation.. but i'm back and I haven't decided if I should go tomorrow or not.. probably not, but I should.

Tis' the season for crowds!

So we just got back from a full day of shopping. I went with DH and baby in tow, and to be honest it wasn't THAT bad.. at first I thought things might get a little hairy as you could see tention rising with just the traffic, but once we got going it was actually ok. I think I'm officially half way done :) Of course the other half includes a bunch of more stuff still to buy... especially for Jeff (DH). Not sure exactly what i'm going to get him yet. He is a gadget guy and he has just about every gadget. I'm thinking about getting him one of those cool DVD holders/players. I guess they can hold up to 200+ DVDs. It sure would make watching a DVD easier instead of finding it in the closet with all of the other ones. Who knows, I may change my mind.

We just pulled all of the xmas stuff out of the garage, so now I have to decorate and put the tree up. I have no energy to do it... hence the procrastination of filling out my blog :)

I finished Ellie's 7 month page here it is. The kit is from the Digi Chick and it's the new "Boy & Girl" Kit by Laura and Sarah. Very cute kit. I'm sure I will get a ton of use of out it.

On a sad note, Richard Pryor died today.. I just saw the news. He was only 65 years old. I guess he had a heart attack. Bummer, he was pretty funny. I loved the movie "Stir Crazy"

Ok off to trim the tree ....

Another Creative Team!

Well more good news in the scrapbooking front. I've been asked to be on another design team!! I'm going to be on the creative team for Laura Alpuché. She has some really great stuff and I'm excited to design some pages for her. Her kits are sold at the Digi Chick. Here website is: Laura's corner

So I took a quiz on Blogthings and for some reason I can't get my results to show up.. but basically i'm only 20% crazy!! Good to know I"m only 20% crazy... hmmm if you got 90% would you post it????

Ok I love movies!! I can't get enough of them, but ever since Ellie was born my movie watching has slowly deteriorated. Not that I'm complaining too much, but I really miss it. And watching a DVD at home is not the same. The movie I really want to see right now is "Pride & Predjudice" I love the original movie (miniseries) The A&E version with Collin Firth, so I really want to see how they crammed this amazing novel into 2 hours. "Mr Darcy!!"

Ellie at Animal Kingdom. How cute is this!!! Posted by Picasa

We survived!!

Ok.. so we made it through the vacation.

First, let me just say that I had NOOOOO idea that there were not ANY changing tables in the airplane. I guess they made 757s without them, but why?? Who's brillant idea was that? I mean they had babies back then too right??? So why am I making a big deal about this??? Well let me tell you. Ellie is teething. She decided to cut her top 2 teeth on our vacation...which in turn means she has "blow outs" and one of these so called "blow outs" hit on the plane ride to Orlando. I mean it was everywhere.. all over her clothes etc... So I head to the small closet called the bathroom and was so suprised that there wasn't a changing table.. so shocked that I got out of it and checked the other 2... NOPE. It was horrible.. poor Ellie, I made do and scrunched her poor head against the wall. She was screaming. I was about to scream too. Needless to say the ride there wasn't great. But she made up for it by being a complete angel on the way back. Even the flight attendents were impressed.

Ok enough of that.. our trip.. what can I say, we had a great time. There is so much to see and do there that I didn't feel like 7 days was enough time. The decorations were amazing. The food was great, and Ellie was a doll. She is such a trooper and was really good. But in all honesty, I'm exhausted. Somehow on our trip I got a little flu bug one day and a huge cold. So I came home with t-shirts, gifts and a major stuffed up nose :(

I now have over 150 pics to scrap... I better get started.

I'm going to load up a pic of Ellie at Animal Kingdom. I had a little cheetah outfit and of course I saw some Mickey ears to match... I had to do it. The picture is adorable :)
